Deuteronomy 28:47 ... 62 “Then you shall be left few in number, whereas you were as numerous as the stars of heaven, because you did not obey the LORD your God. וְהֵצַ֨ר לְךָ֜ בְּכָל־שְׁעָרֶ֗יךָ עַ֣ד רֶ֤דֶת חֹֽמֹתֶ֨יךָ֙ הַגְּבֹהֹ֣ת וְהַבְּצֻר֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתָּ֛ה בֹּטֵ֥חַ בָּהֵ֖ן בְּכָל־אַרְצֶ֑ךָ וְהֵצַ֤ר לְךָ֙ בְּכָל־שְׁעָרֶ֔יךָ בְּכָ֨ל־אַרְצְךָ֔ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֛ן יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ לָֽךְ: [The רֶדֶת here is [an expression of רִדּוּי וְכִבּוּשׁ] subjugation and conquest. 64 “And the Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known. This is [like] a modification made by scribes. And it will reach a stage where he will begrudge his remaining children, by denying any of them the flesh of his sons, their brothers, which he is eating. [This means that] anyone who hears about your plagues, will“tremble in fear (יָזוּעוּ) ,” saying:“Woe to us! Now, [the word יְיָרֵשׁ] must not be understood as denoting יְרוּשָׁה, “inheritance,” for in that case, the Scripture would have written: יִירַשׁ [i.e., with a different vocalization. And there, you will seek to be sold to your enemies for slaves and handmaids, but there will be no buyer. מפני המכות כשהיו ישראל רואים מכות משונות הבאות על מצרים היו יראים מהם שלא יבואו גם עליהם, תדע שכן כתיב (שמות טו כו) אם שמוע וגו' כל המחלה אשר שמתי במצרים לא אשים עליך, אין מיראין את האדם אלא בדבר שהוא יגור ממנו: Also, the Lord will bring upon you every disease and plague which is not written in this Torah scroll, to destroy you. 49 (C)The Lord will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, (D)swooping down like the eagle, a nation (E)whose language you do not understand, 50 a hard-faced nation (F)who shall not respect the old or show mercy to the young. של שחרית, שהצרות מתחזקות תמיד וכל שעה מרובה קללתה משלפניה: And the Lord will bring you back to Egypt in ships, through the way about which I had said to you, You will never see it again. 5:15-17; 6:22, 23]; See Isa.
